Katie’s Story

“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.”

Have you experienced the joy of doing something you truly love?

This is where success lies. Following our hearts desire in work & in life can sometimes be the hardest thing in the world. The fear of failing, a lack of confidence or somebody else’s opinion can stop us in our tracks. But when you dare to believe in yourself success can happen. This is the reason I took a leap of faith and set up Work & Life. My own life and career has taken me from Dublin to London (and back again), to India and Silicon Valley and back to London, where I now call home. When I am not speaking with clients about their careers or writing career advice you can usually find me on my yoga mat! A dedicated Ashtangi, a wannabe photographer and hopeful writer. Drawing on my background of over 10 years experience in recruitment I know first hand what separates a good candidate from a great candidate. I have interviewed thousands of people and hired hundreds into jobs ranging from graduate to director level.
Having partnered extensively with hiring managers and leadership teams for some of the top tech companies in the world, I understand the inner workings of a recruitment process and what companies are looking for in a candidate. As the EU Recruiting Lead for a silicon valley software company, I have set international recruiting strategies, being responsible for leading and developing a team and gained experience of being a hiring manager.

Throughout this time I have also been a candidate, and that gives me the perspective and experience from both sides.

In my own life I have showcased the power of pursuing my goals and dreams. I left a permanent job and home in Ireland to travel and explore India. On returning to Europe I moved London, starting a new chapter in my career to today where I am starting a new adventure with my own business. You can and your should be happy and successful in your job and I want to help make that happen.
